Cumbria Nature Festival

Many of the experts invited to Cumbria Nature Festival are outstanding in their field. And that’s often the problem! Which field? Where? And how do we get to meet them?
We are rounding up these experts – enticing them with music, food, crafts, art and much, much more – to get them all in the same place at the same time so everyone with a love of nature can meet, learn, share and above all celebrate our shared passion for wildlife and the natural world. We have a fantastic programme of speakers who will be delivering entertaining and informative talks on a wide range of topics including ‘Amazing Amphibians and Remarkable Reptiles’, ‘Protecting Cumbria’s Badger’ and ‘Looking after hedgehogs in your garden’. We have workshops in which you will get the chance to make and decorate a bird box out of recycled materials to take home, carve a spoon and weave a willow bird feeder. You will get the opportunity to build a ‘Bug Hotel’, learn about and construct a ‘Dead Hedge’, and watch as an amazing mural of British Wildlife is created live on-site over the course of the weekend. All of this and more will be taking place alongside music, food from ‘Binsey Field Kitchen’, kids crafts and messy play plus yoga and mindfulness sessions.
Cumbria Nature Festival takes place between the 8th – 10th May, 2026 at Rivendell, nr Workington. Full weekend tickets (with camping), or day tickets, for families, groups and individuals are all available now via our website
