About Us
A Hub for People and Nature activity in Cumbria
The Cumbria People and Nature Network creates a space where we bring all the pieces of the people and nature jigsaw together to create a unified powerful force for change in Cumbria.
For residents and communities, it provides a digital home to find and connect with nature activities across the region.
The network is part of the Cumbria Local Nature Partnership and its work is directed by a network steering group of diverse organisations from across Cumbria all with an interest in the people and nature agenda.
Decisions around the network’s direction and priorities for delivery and activity are decided through consultation with network members. The day-to-day activities of the network are overseen by a steering group of individuals representing organisations with an interest and involvement with the people and nature agenda from across the sector.
We want to create a space:
- To share knowledge, best practice, information and resources.
- For people to develop relationships and partnerships that strengthen collaborative working in order to increase opportunities for our people and nature activity across Cumbria.
- For those who want to develop initiatives and activity to access organisations and connect with those who can support and empower that change.
We Want To create opportunities:
- For members to come together to spot the synergies, identify gaps in provision and opportunities and avoid duplication.
- To connect people working across our health and wellbeing, education and nature recovery agendas, supporting integration and alignment.
- To tackle barriers to nature by influencing policy and strategic direction for the county around our people and nature work.
